Goggle eyes

Und das?

In a deep dark corner of a small school cupboard a wonderful story is taking place about parents finding new boyfriends. It all starts off when Helen (one of Kitty's schoolmates) comes to school in tears, the reason for which is soon revealed by the writer Anne Fine. Kitty hears about Helen's problems sitting in a lost property cupboard off one of the school hallways.

Kitty has brown hair and a very strong personality. She says exactly what she things and won't stop arguing until she gets her own way especially when she's fighting with Gerald Faulkner (her mum's boyfriend). She absolutely hates him and thinks he is taking over her mum. So what else does kitty not like about Gerald?

Gerald tries to be nice by buying expensive chocolates and playing games which is all described when KItty tries to comfort Helen by telling Helen her own problems! That is why everything turns to custard. Kitty hated him so much she started making things up to happen to him like 'on Tuesday a drunk driver might run him over on Wednesday he might fall into the reservoir while walking with her mum'.

The story is mainly about how Kitty coped with her parents splitting up which changes Kitty's life dramatically by learning lots of information which is used to help others through the same kind of problems. The problems are all solved in the book Goggle-Eyes.

The moral of the book is everything happens for a reason. This book is sitting on a library shelf waiting to be enjoyed by you! So go down to your local library and get out the book Goggle-Eyes so you can find out what the life changing event in Kitty Killin's life

Kitty is a wonderful storyteller, so when Helly comes to school in a miserable state, their teacher sends Kitty to help. The problem is that Helly's mum has begun seeing a man Helly can't stand, and as Kitty has had exactly the same experience, all her story-telling powers are brought into play to provide comfort. The adventures of Kitty, her sister Jude, her mother and the erstwhile potential stepfather, Gerald Faulkner (known as Goggle-eyes), are by turn hilarious, moving, and very true to life. Gerald is precise, conformist, right wing, and anti-CND, and the family he is considering taking on is almost the exact antithesis. CND marches and rallies are bread of life to them, and there is a wonderfully funny section when Gerald joins them on a rally to a submarine base, only to be complete odd-man-out. But Gerald is also sensible and solid and reliable, and Kitty comes to see that this is a side of him that her excitable mum needs. As a side issue, the whole idea of anti-nuclear demonstrations and green issues are given a balanced and intelligent airing as both sides argue their reasons. When mum finally blows up after she has been arrested at a demo and Gerald tells her she is irresponsible, he leaves quietly, without a fuss, and in the ensuing weeks it is Kitty and Jude who feel the loss. Reliable Gerald keeps in touch in small ways, and when mum's case comes up in court, he is there to support her. There is no wedding at the end of the story, but Kitty tells Helly she honestly wouldn't mind.

So, daraus wirst du sicher was basteln können. :) Seit's froh, dass ihr solche tollen Bücher lest, wir mussten uns mit Wuthering Heights abquälen!
